Tesco Stores

You may be curious about the name. It certainly has an interesting story behind it. The company was originally founded by Jack Cohen in 1919. When Mr. Cohen made a purchase of a shipment of tea from T.S. Stockwell, he decided that it would be a good idea to come up with a name for his company by combining the first three initials of that name with the first two letters of his own. Thus, Tesco came into being.

Today is it one of the three largest supermarkets in the world. Only Wal-Mart and the lesser-known (in the States) Carrefour exceed it. Tesco can be found in 14 countries around the world. The first place is, of course, the United Kingdom, but other countries in Europe have their own Tesco Stores, not to speak of Asia or Malaysia. Today, the Republic of Ireland is also part of their empire.

At any of your friendly Tesco Stores, you may choose from 1,000 wines and champagnes. If you are into entertainment or books, you will also have come to the right place. Not to speak of the phone shop for the latest mobiles and accessories and broadband deals. If clothing is to your fancy, you will find the biggest selections of the latest fashions for you and for your entire family.

Tesco also features banks. You can have your savings there, or get the best credit cards around, not to speak of personal loans. Need a great deal on your car insurance? Look no further.

But perhaps your basic interest is in fresh foods and groceries. Once again, you will have come to the right place for all your needs along those lines. From the best foods to the most impressive wines, whatever you wish to put on your table is to be had at Tesco’s.

Perhaps the best thing for today’s discriminating shopper is the convenience of online shopping. With a few clicks of the mouse, you can select all that you need and have it shipped straight to your house where then you can prepare the most scrumptious meals to your heart’s content.

Whether you are in the market for phones or appliances, or furniture or jewelry, or toys or your baby’s needs, you are guaranteed to find whatever your heart’s desire at your friendly Tesco Stores, whether in person or online.

Stores that offer this many items are not a dime a dozen. Tesco Stores has been in business now for over a century, and in that time they have served countless millions of satisfied customers. It stands to reason that a store – rather, an international chain like this would not stay in business if it didn’t offer first-rate merchandise along with prime products and friendly and courteous services.

The company is now also looking into establishing itself in the United States. They hope to make it as big here as it has now been big for the longest time in the United Kingdom. Soon enough, the Tesco name may just be one of the easiest household names to roll off your tongue.
