What should you do if you can’t eliminate the problem causing your depression?

Question by Mr Winky: What should you do if you can’t eliminate the problem causing your depression?
I am suffering from depression and I don’t think the medications I am on are the real answer to solving it. I know what is mostly causing my depression and if I could eliminate I could feel better but unfortunately I cannot eliminate the cause of it at this time. What should I do to cope until I can hopefull eliminate the cause of my depression?
